- If your blog isn’t listed, please drop me a line (no RP blogs, unless it’s a masterlist)

- See here for creators who have worked or are currently working on YA titles (question: would a rebloggable version of that page be useful?)

Obligatory question mark?

Women read comics. Anyone at all engaged in social media knows this. Women read comics and are a driving force behind fandom. I think I could call them the driving force behind fandom and put up a convincing argument. Just think about it: what fandoms have driven America crazy in the last decade? Could anyone dissuade me from saying that they were Harry Potter, Twilight and the Hunger Games? “Avatar” may have put butts in theater seats, but you don’t hear about it… ever. No one is immersed in the world of “Avatar” except James Cameron and people who enjoy wearing Na’vi Zentai suits. “The Avengers” was pretty darn huge and, if Tumblr is any indication, a whopping portion of the people driving that fandom online do not possess a Y chromosome. Women engage in fandom to levels that men do not. When women get behind something, their sheer numbers and passion force it into the mainstream. That’s why you can name the actor who plays that werewolf kid in “Twilight” and probably sing at least the chorus to one Justin Bieber song. What do tween boys like? I have no clue. Sports? Probably sports.

and yet men remain the most marketed demographic for just about everything.

I’m pretty sure the only men who spend more time thinking about DC than women on Tumblr are the men who actually work there.

Joker from DC Comics

By Anthony Misiano

A.K.A Harley’s Joker, he’s seemingly the most well-known Joker Cosplayer in the world. Not much is needed to be said. He simply puts smiles on our faces.

birdflash:

Birdflash FANBINGO

~ Fanbingo is creating a fanfic or piece of fanart that includes a “bingo” of five, four, or three concepts in a row, just like regular bingo! The Birdflash symbol is a FREE idea.

So, for instance, bingo on the top bingo card could be the a fic that includes everything in the bottom row: Pining!OT3!Rule-63!Brotemis (Artemis as their bro)!Wordplay.

You can ADD ANYTHING else. So you could make a Pining!OT3!Rule-63!Brotemis!Wordplay + INJURED fic or fanart. As long as you have the five, four, or three things in a row, you’re g2g.

Interpretations are very, very open and up to you.

I tried to group concepts that at least made a little sense, but obviously this can get cracky.

There are three levels: five, four, and three. The fics and fanart can all be any length/complexity.You could just come up with just a title or a summary if you like. The 3x3 is designed for 3-sentence fics (or whatever kind of fanart), but go ahead and do anything you want.

This is meant to help you prompt yourself and inspire - we’re not going to be mean, any Birdflash fanwork is great fanwork. :)

Here are some other patterns you can apply (to ANY of the grids):

Around the World: all around the edges

X-Marks the Spot: All the tropes in the two diagonals (doesn’t really work on 4x4)

Four Corners: The four corners of the grid (this is like getting the free center in the 5x5!)

Color Guard: All the yellow, red, or black squares

Center Cross: The center vertical and horizontal lines (doesn’t really work on the 4x4)

Black Out: EVERYTHING

Remember, this is fanart, too! So a picture of (top row; 4x4) Evil Dick and Wally Cuddling on a Double Date with Dick Maskless is GREAT!
